Fig Tree Safaris has access to superb hunting areas and we are able to offer hunting opportunities for any form of game hunting, including the Big Five.

Fig tree Safaris was established in 2001 by professional hunter, Johann Gey van Pittius. Johann has been in the hunting business since 1987. He is a member of both the Wild Life Ranching, and the Professional Hunters Associations of South Africa.

Fig Tree Safaris takes pride in offering our clients an unforgettable hunting experience. Johann together with his wife, Robyn, will ensure that your stay is both memorable and enjoyable. Robyn is in charge of meals and she will also ensure that the non-hunting members of your party enjoy their stay.

We have two professional hunters in our permanent employment, Gert Brits and Ettienne Strydom. Gert’s best friend, a Jack Russel called Yster, has saved the day for a number of hunters with his superb tracking ability. We also have a number of professional hunters whom we employ on a temporary basis during the hunting season.

We have a number of supporting staff members, including trackers, skinners, drivers, cooks and cleaners.
